About Our Conservation Partners

Marevivo is Italy's leading non-profit environmental association, founded in 1985, dedicated to the protection of the Mediterranean Sea and its resources.
Marevivo combines scientific expertise, legal action, and grassroots mobilization to combat marine threats like plastic pollution, illegal fishing, and biodiversity loss.
Marevivo's mission centers on fostering sustainable development while preserving marine ecosystems: they promote the expansion of marine protected areas, deliver impactful environmental education programs, and lead international campaigns against environmentally damaging practices.
As active partners in the UNEP Mediterranean Action Plan and the Med Sea Alliance, Marevivo also drives change through collaborative initiatives with other global NGOs.
Nature Trust Malta (NTM) was initially founded in 1962 as the Natural History Society of Malta and was formally established as NTM through the 1999 merger of four pioneering NGOs.
As Malta's representative for the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), NTM drives conservation through hands-on action, education, and advocacy. NTM promotes environmental awareness, manages protected sites, and works for stronger environmental legislation.
Key initiatives include environmental education programs, reforestation programs, habitat restoration in Natura 2000 areas, marine protected area creation, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, and monitoring of vulnerable species such as loggerhead turtles.
AKTI Project and Research Centre was founded in 2000 in Nicosia and focuses on environmental issues, sustainability, and coastal/marine conservation.
AKTI specializes in integrated coastal zone management (ICZM), combating marine litter and microplastics pollution, beach cleanups, awareness campaigns, and applied research to address Cyprus-specific environmental challenges.
AKTI also coordinates national efforts like the International Coastal Cleanup, runs programs such as Zero Waste Beach and Responsible Coastal Businesses Network and participates in EU-funded projects on eco-innovative marine technologies.
